The 20th
- On the 20th day of the month, write and record a song, so that it's complete and ready to share by the morning of the 21st.
- Send in your completed song so it can be heard by everyone else who contributed.
- In return, you get a CD-R compilation, the one for that month, so you can hear their contributions too.
A day to make a song
Your tracks(s) must put together on the 20th of the month. That means no ideas from beforehand; no writing, performing, recording, mixing, mastering of the track before or after that day.
(Of course you can use the rest of the month to buy and learn instruments, play and record other songs, etc. You can even revisit your "20th" song, but we want to hear the original version, not the reworked one.)
This will force you to pick up the recording gear you've been neglecting the rest of the month, and hopefully get a song out, something that you might not have created otherwise. You end up with your own finished song, on a CD with others.
Who can take part?
At the moment, anyone can take part. You just need to be able to record something on the day and send it in. Over the years, we've had contributions from Sydney (where we're based), Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, New Zealand, U.S.A., Canada, England, Portugal, South Korea and elsewhere. Lots of different styles too.
It's nice if you email first to introduce yourself. Otherwise just wait until the 21st and surprise us with whatever you've got.

Email the song as an MP3 or WAV or AIF or we can work out some other delivery method, as long as it's here here by the 27th. Please include the song name, (your) artist name and an address where we can send the CD-R.
Cover Art
Each month, the CD covers are handmade/designed by someone, and that person gets a copy too. They make beautiful covers. They deserve a copy.
You can offer to make covers one month, if you like.
